Window and Door Repair and Replacement
Windows and doors are a dynamic barrier in your home’s envelope. Weather-stripping doors and caulking windows helps to seal your home from the elements. We seal every crevasse, and repair existing hardware. We also install storm windows and doors; these increase efficiency and home security. Window replacement is often not necessary, but when it is, with our years of remodeling experience, we’ve got it covered.
Insulation for Ceilings, Walls, Floors, and Ducts
Insulation allows your home to retain valuable heat. We determine what insulation you have and how it is performing. We use our expertise to figure out what type of additional insulation you may need in your ceiling, walls, floors, or ducts and calculate how much additional insulation is needed to bring your home up to an optimal level of performance for comfort and energy efficiency.
Air Sealing the Building Envelope and Adding Fresh-air Ventilation
A blower door test will reveal where your home is losing air to the outside world and pinpoint opportunities where – with the proper sealing – your home could do a better job of retaining energy. The blower door test can also tell us if unhealthy air is being drawn into the home on a regular basis from the crawl space, attic, or garage. Once we identify the specific locations where you home allows air infiltration, we take measures to seal up the cracks.
Once we air seal the ducts and any cracks in the building envelope, we run the blower door to determine the air changes per hour. We also test the safety of the combustion appliance zone. Sometimes we must add sources of fresh air ventilation to the home to assure that air quality within the home remains within safe levels.

Attic Ventilation Systems
Proper attic ventilation significantly reduces the chance that roofing materials will become moist and then decay over time due to moisture build-up, thus prolonging the life of your roof. Moisture can enter the attic and condense on framing boards, roof decking, and insulation. Mechanical attic ventilation systems force out warm, moist air that contributes to mildew and mold with electric fans and allow fresh air in through soffit vents, roof vents, or gable vents.
In the wintertime, proper ventilation also helps equalize the temperature between the outside air and the air inside your attic. This dramatically reduces the risk of ice dams forming at the eaves, a common cause of residential water damage.
Duct Sealing
Duct leakage can cause severe indoor air quality problems by drawing contaminated air into the home from the crawl space. It also increases energy use by heating the crawl space instead of your home. The average duct system leaks 30% of conditioned air.

Duct Repair and Redesign
Properly designed and installed ducts are essential for optimal energy performance and comfort. If your furnace is frequently turning on and off, if you have some rooms that are either overly cold or overheating, you have indicators that your ducts are poorly designed or, possibly, disconnected.
Crawlspace Sealing and Vapor Barrier
A properly sealed crawlspace can make a big difference in your home’s indoor air quality, comfort, and energy efficiency. Tankless Water Heaters, also called On Demand Water Heaters, provide hot water only as it is needed.Traditional storage water heaters produce standby energy losses that cost you money. We do not leave our homes heated while vacationing. We only heat our homes when there is a demand for heat. In the same way, a Tankless Water Heater is used only when there is a demand for hot water.
Solar water heaters—also called solar domestic hot water systems—can be a cost-effective way to generate hot water for your home. They can be used in any climate, and the fuel they use—sunshine—is free.
